Hige-nade festival

Traditional event that prays for good harvest and descendant prosperity, told began in Kamakura Period, about 800 years ago.

A person on new duty who is sitting on the east side is requested to drink sake from whom the person sitting on the west side,when he pat his splendid beard.

Very humorous festival that continues from Kamakura Period.

The gesture that pats the Kaiser beard is comical.

We will recommend you to see once.

If the beard is patted, a new person on duty should drink sake with a large bowl.

It specifies for the intangible folk customs cultural asset of Katori City.
