It is said that it had already been done in latter term of Edo period Bunka era (1804-1818), and it has been recorded that 11 masks for the Shinto music and dancing were repaired in 1829.
Before the Meiji era, nearby Shinto priests gathered and performed it.
It came to be done by a local young person at about the beginning of the Meiji era.
The Kagura has been succeeded by the preservation association that organizes with the volunteers in local now.
This Kagura [Shinto music and dance] is a festival to pray for parishioner's peace, the good harvest, and prosperity. This is presented by the festival on March 3.
It is registered in the cultural asset of the city.
