The event Sawara, the town, and the evening was held from August 13 to the 16th.
This is the third time, produced by "Sawara Okami-san Kai" (the Sawara women shop-managers association).
The shops around here are decorated with the lights every year.
This year, about 500 lights such as lanterns with kindergartner's picture and the sumi-e painting were decorated this year.
On 16th, the floating lanterns was held on a river Ono-gawa.
The participants were throwing lanterns, on which their dreams were written,from the boat with the sound of "the Sawara-bayashi" (the festival music of Sawara).
People were get dressed Yukata for free. A lot of people putting on Yukata strolled by the Onogawa river.
I hoped the gentle lights welcomed the people who visited Sawara.

Though "Itako bride" marrying on the boat is famous by the song, the bride in Sawara sometimes appears on the boat.
The first day of four consecutive holidays of the latter half of Golden Week is rain from the morning. I worried about the marriage boat that has been scheduled since the afternoon.
However, rain stopped, and the bride appeared in Onogawa with the boat about 2:30PM.
The boat was guided to the Sawara musical band and advanced quietly. The bride showed the smile happily. A lot of spectators sent the applause of blessing from the bridge laid in Onogawa-river.
I heared that this bride came from Chiba City. A spectator in the riverbank said that "May you be happily indefinitely". I thought it would have been time that remained in their memories for life.
I feel happy every time when I see the Onogawa's marriage boat.

Please come to Onogawa in Sawara now.
The bright green leaves of willows bud and they are very beautiful. The dying willows in the long winter, now rejuvenate suddenly in spring, a soft leaf appears one after another.
It is scenery on a short term only of this season.
Please walk peacefully on the path near Onogawa ,bathing in a warm sunbeam.
It is my one of the favorites.

Big Kintaro has come to Sawara now. [Kintaro is a strong and good-tempered child in a legend.]
Of course, it is not alive, this is a doll. But his face is dignified and good-looking. Seeing this, I become energetic.
To tell the truth, we borrowed this doll from Iwatsuki famous with doll making.
He [the doll] is carried by car for "Sawara town-walk for Hina dolls" and "Sawara town-walk for Warrior dolls",both held by "Sawara Okami-san-kai" [association of proprietress].
The doll is decorated at Mitsbishi-kan in Sawara, and will be moved to "Kouryu-kan" for the period of "Sawara town-walk for Warrior dolls".
He actually is more attractive than the photograph. Please go to see by all means.
